The Irony of It All

I over heard two girls talking on the train yesterday. One said to the other:

-“You know, she had an image in her head and reality ruined it.”

This was enough to send my easily distracted imagination into another dimension. I kept thinking about how strange life can be like that, or rather, how strange we can be towards life. Like I was saying to Nadin just the other day, what is a plan but ink on paper. Plans are made to be scrapped and life is often best enjoyed when accepted and lived as is and without trying to enforce some preconceived plan on it. The latter is just a recipe for disappointment!

Suddenly, I was snapped back to reality by the second girl’s reply:

-“Yeah. I saw them and I know what you mean! That’s why I would never order shoes from a catalogue”

Funny Photo

I was standing under this ginormous lamp shade in Costa Coffee in town when Sharon took this picture and captioned it: "Beam Me Up...Biscotti!"
She makes me laugh!

Africa gives and gives...

Inspired by some beautiful pictures of an old friend's wedding, I started checking out a few of my old high school friends names on Google. By pure accident, I arrived at a wonderful site called My Afya. There I could see pictures of someone I went to SSHL with. Her name is Kim Otteby.

As I read Kim's info on My Afya, I couldn't but be overwhelmed with how healthy she looks. I mean, don't get me wrong, Kim always came across as a healthy and active teenager but as an adult, she looks very happy. That really left a strong impression on me.

Not only am I impressed by how Kim has transformed her life (she carries an impressive CV) but also by how Africa gives and gives...and keeps on giving!

I can't wait.

We were talking about a time and a place...
